Smokers in Swansea are continuously given pocket ashtrays to stop them dropping barges in the city.

A litter requirement group, which has issued more than 600 altered punishments in its first month for an assortment of litter offences, have been giving them out.

The "Stub It" pockets accompany directions and can expect up to remember five butts before expecting to be discharged.

Swansea chamber uses more than £2m a year clearing up litter.

"A huge greater part of litter canisters in Swansea, particularly in the downtown area, have a compartment to stifle cigarettes so there is no reason for tossing them on the floor," said gathering bureau part June Burtonshaw.

"Inhabitants have let us know they need us to manage litter bugs and clean up the city.

"Our most recent requirement plans are having a positive effect and we have had reports from our clean-up groups of less litter in occupied open zones, for example the downtown area.
